So IMO Wrestlemania 25 was one of the better PPV's in a while. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy delivered and I honestly hope this feud continues with more extreme type matches for a while and maybe it culminates in the HIAC for the year, as usually a feud that happens at Mania is the one that has the HIAC for the year. And Who knew that Ricky Steamboat was still that much of a beast at his age, his performance got me into a match that otherwise sucked. Santino again cracked me up as he won the diva battle royal which was awesome. John Cena winning was the right move at the time as they needed to get the title out of this Big Show Edge feud that seems like it's about to happen. The only thing I wished is that Cena didn't win the title at Survivor Series that way his win last night would've been cooler. The MITB was entertaining, and it looks like Shelton may have some competition from Kofi now as Kofi and him put on a show, even though Shelton missed that one spot. Rey winning the IC title may do some good for it, but the way he won it, hurt the title in so many ways.
And then of course you had the match that everyone knew was going to steal the show heading into it, and that was HBK Taker. Now besides the fact that this match should've closed instead of what actually did close it. This match should've closed it cause every match that followed felt like crap afterwords cause nothing was as good as that match was. Anytime you can get me to honestly believe that the streak might end for a second, is pretty darn amazing. HBK and Taker had the non fans the casual fans and the internet fans eating out of the palms of their hands. This by far was the best regular singles match I've seen maybe in my entire life.
The only thing that took away from this Wrestlemania, we're two pretty big booking blunders in my opinion. The first one would be, CM Punk winning MITB over MVP or Christian. Now I do believe CM Punk will be a better champ this time around as last time he was rushed into the roll, but he did not deserve this win. MVP lost for about 4 months in a row, and they did this to get him over as a babyface, and in a match every one knows MVP deserves to win, WWE pulls down their pants and pisses in our faces. Christian is a man who proved that he can be a company's top dog, and I don't care what people say about the TNA Title, but Christian proved he's a guy who could be a two or three month reign top dog in TNA. Christian or MVP deserved this WAY MORE than CM punk did and I wonder if WWE did this just to surprise us all, but I hope this is not the case as this means they honestly don't believe CM Punk has what it takes yet again.
Then here is the biggest booking blunder of the night, HHH beat Randy orton. Now as most of you know I hate HHH but that is not the reason this is a bad booking decision. This is a bad booking decision because Orton is the hottest star in the WWE and he has the hottest feud, but since HHH just got his revenge then what was the point of building Orton up for about 4 months straight, and now HHH has already gotten revenge on Orton so what more is exciting about this feud, and what more can Orton do to make this interesting again? This is a good short term booking decision in that everyone leaves Mania happy, but this is an awful long term booking decision as this takes away from the best feud, and probably the feud that will end in the HIAC. If WWE wanted people to leave Mania happy let Orton win, and let HBK Taker close the show, and everyone leaves happy. Also this matches ending was one of the most anti-climatic endings that could happen for a Wrestlemania, and maybe the least anti-climatic of the entire show including the diva's match. The match just sort of ended and there wasn't anything that really made the match dramatic.
Overall Mania was good this year, but WWE Kills me sometimes with what their booking decisions.
