A Face RP
The scene opens with Johnny Sniper sitting on a red couch in a coffee shop. Wearing jeans and a red t-shirt with a black tribal design on he front, he smiles. He pats the Xcore Championship belt that sits to the left of him. The proud look on his face tells the story. Sniper didn’t hide the fact that this belt was his pride and joy. It had barely been two weeks since Sniper had won back the Xcore Championship but already he knew he faced the biggest test of his career. JT Cash had been on a mission to reclaim what he felt was rightfully his. Infront of Sniper on the coffee table was a half full coffee cup. With Sniper’s career going as well as it ever had nothing was half empty anymore, simply half full.

So I sat down recently and had a look back over the past year or so of my life. My return to the company after a two month stint in rehab. I’d made it my plan to ease myself back into it all. After all, I was in a fragile enough state as it was. So I slowly and patiently went about my business for a while. Kept myself to myself and just got on with it. Then I met Aston Michaels. Now, for all intents and purposes, Aston has changed his tune a bit and I don’t think he and I would have a problem if we banged into each other today. But back then? I hated the guy. Here I stood, battled back from addiction with him laughing in my face as he drank till his heart sang. Then he would pour alcohol down my throat. At that point it was no longer about keeping myself to myself. No longer about just getting on with it. Suddenly it was all about Aston Michaels. And eventually it led to our submission match at Superbrawl Two. Everybody seems to view this match as the turning point in my career here in XHW. Finally the fans started to back me. Despite losing, I came out of the match with my head held high. From here it was back to digging my heels in and pushing my way slowly up the Xcore rankings. It may have taken me nine months, one Draven Torette Tribute Tournament, one all or nothing bet with Lucy Walker, one title shot on the line tag match and one ladder match… But finally, Johnny Sniper stood atop the Xcore ladder.
Sniper smiled and laughed to himself a little bit. He reached forward and took a sip from his coffee before sitting back.

Of course I only lasted two title defences and eventually succumbed to Mr Jingles in the Xcore Invitational Gauntlet match… Not my brightest decision I’ll admit. But in typical Johnny Sniper fashion, I battled my way back and defeated Mr Jingles to become a two-time XHW Xcore Champion. So now on Sunday, we come to the biggest night in Johnny Sniper’s career. Defending the XHW Xcore Championship against my main man J.T. Cash. And then the All or Nothing battle royal. Twenty of XHW’s finest, stepping into the ring for a shot at the Undisputed Champion at Superbrawl Three. It’s our Superbowl, the night we live for. The very night that each and every one of us worthy enough would give anything – body part, money, life – just to be apart of. So if Superbrawl is our Superbowl then that makes the All or Nothing battle royal the conference championship, the semi-finals. The winner can come from anywhere in the field. Last year’s winner was fellow O. Marshall Kane client Johnny Diamond. Look, this time last year I couldn’t have even dreamed about being in this match. Yet, thanks to Kane, I find myself in the match this year. And now that I’m in it… I’m thinking… Why not? Why not me? Why can’t Johnny Sniper go out there and win the battle royal. It won’t be easy, I’m not that niave to think so. But really, when you look at the pool of talent in the match, I’ve got as good a shot as any. I may not have the wrestling skills of some of the guys in there, or the experience of some of the others like Triple Syxx, but I’ll tell you this. In that match there is nobody. And I mean nobody, that can match my heart and desire to win. My heart bleeds for this company. Bleeds for all the fans. I’ve begun to prove myself in this company the past few months. But yet I still here all the chatter.
Sniper leans forward. A more somber look on his face. He opens his mouth but pauses. Thinking for a second.

I hear the talk. ‘Johnny Sniper isn’t a main eventer’. ‘Not a guy to build the product around.’ ‘Solid card filler, nothing more.’ Even when I’m being complimented. ‘Yeah, that Johnny Sniper, he’s the best mid card wrestler in XHW.’ Look, I get it. I really do. I’m not as brash and arrogant as Jay Adams or Giovanni Valentino. I don’t have the bloodlines of a Jakk Levy. I’m not an XHW Hall of Famer like Triple Syxx. But I can duke it out with the absolute best this company has to offer. I found that out when I battled with Jay Adams on Warzone. I couldn’t quite get the victory but I proved that I could hang with the big dogs. Guys like Adams, Levy, Valentino. They don’t scare me anymore. Sure I respect everything they’ve accomplished in this business. But if I have to get into the ring with them… I feel like I can hold my own. The past year has seen a wealth of new talent enter the company and make their mark. And now you can see some of the new talent starting to make their presense felt high up. Mike Hoss, singled out as ‘One to Watch’ in two thousand and eight, won the XHW Undisputed Championship. Jimm Red, former XHW Xcore Champion just recently came out and declared he has thirty thousand sitting in his bank account waiting to be spent on an Undisputed title shot. Now me? I’m not one for all that. When I get my shot at the Undisputed title I want it to be through hard graft and I want it to be merited. If I really wanted I could walk up to Lucy Walker tomorrow, hand her a cheque and get my match with the Undisputed Champion. But I don’t want that. I want to have that moment where I become the number one contender. Every decision I have made in this company, good or bad has led me to this point. Make no mistake about it. I’m in this battle royal for one reason and one reason only. To win. To move on to Superbrawl Three.
Sniper paused and rubbed his chin, which was clean shaven for a change. He finished his coffee and sat the mug back down of the coffee table.

This company is my life. Every inch of my body. Every breath inhale. Every thought I have. It all relates to one thing, XHW. Ever since October in two thousand and seven. When I step through those ropes each night I can feel the pride right through to the toes of my boots, it tingles. I’ve learned a lot since I got here. This company imposes it’s values on you. The honour, the tradition, the respect. I’ve wrestled in arenas ranging from the Stomping Grounds to Wembley Stadium in London, England. And in every arena the fans scream with the same unadulterated passion as the next. That’s what XHW stands for. Passion. Every single wrestler worth his salt in this company, whether they want to admit it or not, breathes for the feeling of stepping out in front of that crowd. We’ve all felt it. The electricity in the air at Superbrawl Two. Hell, how many of us were sat huddled around televisions in the back or in local bars watching Jay Adams make history? We’re all hugely different but for each of the twenty superstars in the battle royal the goal is the same. Be the last man standing. Go on to Superbrawl Three. And win the XHW Undisputed Championship. We all want to be where Jay Adams is right now. We all want to own that title belt. Not for the ‘Undisputed Championship’ part of it. No, we all crave it because of the three letters that come before it. The three letters that pulse through our body with every heartbeat. The three letters that we breathe into our lungs with every breath we take… X… H… W… Because gentlemen, that’s what it’s all about.

The XHW cameras go LIVE just outside of the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan, where the people are piling into the arena like they were giving away free money inside. The camera changes positions several times, as the fans continue to stream into the arena. The camera then catches the sight of a sign hanging over the main entrance of the arena stating THE XHW UNDISPUTED CHAMPION WILL MEET AND GREET FANS ON FEBRUARY 18th. Clearly, this drew the people inside in droves, as there's more than just a few XHW t-shirts in the crowd. The cameras then switch to inside the concession areas, watching as the fans mob over the XHW merchandise, all fighting to get their hands on their very own t-shirts and replica belts and toys. Among the best sold merchandise are the Turbine masks, the Japanese Seaman shirts and the Tiger Komaru t-shirts. After a few minutes, the people begin to move into the arena itself, where many have already entered and taken their seats. The tension is high, and everyone is excited to meet the Champion of Xtreme Hardcore Wrestling. Minutes pass, and the fans have finally made it inside, and the lights go dim, bringing the fans to an even more excited stage. The flashlights begin to light around the arena, and that's when it happens.
Why We Thugs hits the arena speakers, and the lights instantly flare up into a gold and purple frenzy. The fans are stunned, absolutely stunned. Still, seconds later they begin to rise to their feet and react to the man that claims he is the new face of the XHW. The number one contender, Johnny Diamond, makes his way out onto the stage and stops at the top of the ramp, looking around at the multitude of fans packed into the building. Two massive walls of golden sparks begin to erupt on either side of the narrow ramp, changing the entire complexion of the arena from purple and white to all gold for several moments. Then, as the spraks die down, Diamond has already begun down the ramp with a smirk on his face. Dressed in a pair of black leather pants and a black leather vest, he makes his way down to the ring, climbs the steel stairs, then steps inside the ring. the crowd, while still in shock, start taking pictures regardless, as Diamond climbs the far turnbuckle and throws a fist high into the air. His left hand is already filled by a microphone, as he then turns and drops back down into the ring to begin slowly pacing about. The music begins to fade, and the lights slowly revert back to normal, as Diamond stands in the center of the ring, slowly moving his head around to take the whole moment in. then finally, he lifts the microphone, and begins to speak, effectively quieting the now rawkus crowd.
"That's right, that was one hell of a greeting for the man who is destined to become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World! And it's all gonna go down right here in the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan! Johnny Diamond! The Japanese Seaman! One on one for the Undisputed Championship!"
The fans give a loud cheer, sustaining it for several moments, before quieting back down again.
"But before I get into that, I suppose I should explain... you see, while the so-called champion was apparently too busy to make time to come to his homeland for appearances, Johnny Diamond made the extra effort to get here. I was absolutely dying to be here! That's why the sign said meet and greet the CHAMP! Because that little extra effort... that's what seperates the men from the boys, that's what seperates winners from loser, that's what seperates The Champion... from the wannabes. That's the reason the so-called Champ is out on a quest for as much gold as he can wheel into the arenas. That's why your so-called champ is always whining and complaining about not getting the glory he deserves. Why?!? It's quite simple... it's because you are just a stepping stone to the real Champion, the new face of the XHW, Mr. Johnny Diamond! That's why I came here tonight! That's why I came to the XHW! And that's why I came down to the ring last week and brought the fight right to the Seaman's front door! Seaman, you are just one big warming pad... because that's all you're doing, keeping the title warm for the night it goes around the waist of the real Champion! And that's not long now, is it? No, no, no... not long at all, and Full Throttle is fast approaching. It's coming fast, and believe me, you're gonna go to sleep, and when you wake up, it will be time.... it will be time for the main event! Time to come on down to this very ring and lay the Championship down at Johnny Diamond's feet! Because if you don't... if you choose to put up some kind of futile fight... if you choose to do the wrong thing, and think for one micro-second that you have what it takes to take on Johnny Diamond... then it's not gonna be the belt that's laying at my feet, it's gonna be you! You're going to be lying there, down, bleeding, broken... at the feet of the man that's going to lead the XHW to a new era of greatness... the Diamond era!"
The fans react to Diamond's words, and Diamond can't help but smile at the whole situation.
"Now several weeks ago, when Johnny Diamond left saturday nights, he told the entire world to have their TiVos ready, because Johnny Diamond isn't something you want to miss. Every time I come down to this ring, it's like getting to see Muhammed Ali in action... it's priceless. People have put mortgages on their homes just to come and see Johnny Diamond do his thing, and that's not about to stop anytime soon. But it seems that when I said to get your TiVos ready, there was someone who took that particularly to heart, and that person was Ben Hampton. Now Ben Hampton may not be good for much, but when it comes to getting shitfaced and watching TV, he's tops in anyone's book. Last week, Ben Hampton came out to this ring... apparently between beatings from random people backstage... and he called Johnny Diamond on a point when I referred to the Warzone as Anarchy. Well, it's true. I did it. I'm guilty. I came out there, and I called Warzone by the Anarchy name, and I apologize. I mean, can anyone blame me? When I came in through the doors, there were people standing there telling me that I didn't deserve to be there. There were guys in the back claiming they were the baddest mothers to walk the hallways. There were Champions back there who said I'd never make it, and that they couldn't wait to pick the bones when the Seaman was done with me. And I called it Anarchy. You want to know why? You really want to know why, Ben Hampton? It's because to Johnny Diamond, Warzone might as well be Anarchy, because Johnny Diamond is gonna run through that place as easily as he did to Max Turner's secret little love shack, where everybody kisses his ass and says they hate Lucy Logan! Johnny Diamond came out here and made a statement, and then he backed it up by slapping a knot on Draven Tourette later that night! And what is Hampton gonna do now? He'll probably get here in another hour, and he'll probably come out here and talk some more about how Johnny Diamond hasn't beaten anyone credible during his time in the XHW! I mean, that's what Hampton does, right? He cuts down anybody that doesn't measure up to the standards of he and his boy, right?"
The fans get a little rowdy again, and Diamond merely raises an eyebrow from behind his shades, and the fans are set off yet again. Moments pass, and when the fans finally begin to calm again, he continues.
"That's right... in one match, Johnny Diamond came out to this ring and he defeated the likes of Kurt Angle, Olympic Gold Medalist and multi-time World Champion... Daman Arress, former XHW male of the year and former multi-time Champion of the XHW... Rob Gunn, a former Universal Champion... Chris Jericho, a multi-time Champion, and a former World Champion himself... Joe Riggs and Mike Hoss, Excessive Force, the current reigning Tornado Tag Team Champions... starting to get the picture now? And what does Hampton and the Seaman say? They say the Johnny Diamond hasn't beaten anyone credible. They call them 'inferior talent'. And then, Johnny Diamond comes out onto the Warzone, and he slaps a knot on the head of the X-Core Champion, Draven Tourette... and what did Hampton have to say about Tourette? He called him a punk. So apparently, all these men who have been good enough to lead promotions, to hold World championships... they're just punks because of Ben Hampton's say so. Because of the Japanese Seaman's say so. And therein lies the problem, Hampton... according to you, nobody is good enough to be considered credible. According to you, three quarters of the XHW roster is among the 'inferior talent'. Each and every week it's the same thing. 'Johnny, you ain't beat no one worth mentioning.' And then Johnny Diamond goes out, and drops another former or current Champion on his head. 'Johnny, you ain't beat nobody worthwhile.' And then Johnny Diamond goes right back out there and knocks another former or current Champion on his ass! According to you, Johnny Diamond has beaten nothing but a pack of nobodies. And why do you say that? why does the Seaman say that? It's because the Seaman has that belt to hide behind. Why else go into the Tag Team division, if not to try and duck Johnny Diamond and anyone challenging for the Undiputed Championship? But time's running out... tick, tock... tick, tock..."
Diamond starts tapping his wrist, holding it up to his head, and the crowd goes nuts. He laughs a bit, then turns back to the microphone.
"And what is Hampton's response? what is the so-called Champ's response? Well, he calls Johnny Diamond a virus. He calls me a bug! He sniffles and he coughs and he sneezes, and calls me a bug. And all in time for the Pirate himself to come sailing in on his ratty boat like Davey Jones himself!! Hampton, here's a word of advice... it's not the cold or Johnny Diamond that has you sick... it's all the time you spend on your knees kissing the Seaman's ass! It's all the time you spend on your knees at night, praying that you can find a way to hold onto the title just one more day! It's all the time you spend on your knees begging to get the Seaman into Championship matches, so you can try and avoid a real challenger! Don't blame me, Hampton... I told you from day one what was going to happen. And then... then there's the Japanese Seaman..."
The fans immediately erupt.
"That's right, go ahead and cheer him on! Cheer on the Undisputed Champion! Because this sunday, that title's gonna fly off him so fast, you'd think I had a giant magnet around my waist!!! What does the pirate have to say as he steps off his less-than-glorious vessel? He claims there's similarities between Johnny Diamond and himself. He claims that he walked the same kind of path as the number one contender did. He claims that we're more alike than anyone knows! Well that's damn true, Seaman... Afterall, we both know what Johnny Diamond's feet feel like when he's putting the boots to some gigantic retard with a title, don't we?!? Of course we do, you've just felt them from the other side. And then.... THEN... Johnny Diamond comes out on saturday night Anarchy, comes face-to-face, man-to-man with the so-called Champ once again, and what happens? Just when I have him right where I want him, he sicks his little jalepeno popper friend on me, and has the little trout sniffer grab my leg. Then, while I'm fighting him off, he knocks me head over heels! And he calls himself a fair Champion! He calls himself a man of glory and honor! He claims that I won't have anyone to distract him, when he sicked his own partner on me like some damn Taco Bell dog, right when I was moving in for the kill. No, you're wrong, Seaman... it's not johnny Diamond that's going to be all alone, it's you! You're the one whose not gonna have Deigo to take the fall for you! It's you that's not gonna have Ben Hampton to get you a match somewhere away from Johnny Diamond! It's you whose gonna have to nut up and go ONE ON ONE WITH THE NEW FACE OF THE XHW!!!!! And that man's name is.... JOHNNY DIAMOND!"
The fans have begun to get far too worked up, and Diamond can only revel in the moment as he looks around and laughs.
Why We Thugs hits the arena speakers, and the lights instantly flare up into a gold and purple frenzy. The fans are stunned, absolutely stunned.
